L'Isle Jourdain, on the right bank of the river Vienne, is known for being one of the most beautiful spots in the Valley of the Vienne. Its attractions are many and varied - for example, Chardes lake, created by one of L'Isle Jourdain's three hydro-electric dams, has a water sports centre where you can learn to water-ski.
